The fact is that we don’t know, but with food’s environmental impacts making up one-fifth to one-third of our ecological impacts (depending on who we are and where we live and whose numbers we trust), we’d better start finding out. The future of food will play a large part in determining the nature of the future itself.

Saudi production laid bare from The Oil Drum
A couple of weeks ago I made a comment saying that we needed data on producing wells and drilling history in order to further analyse Saudi oil production. In answer to my wish Kyle posted a comment with this link to the OPEC Annual Statistical Bulletin which contains all this information – well almost. So is Saudi production about to nose dive?

Seeking Alpha or how to make life difficult for the reader
Don’t use RSS we have lots of emails for your attention.
As many of you know Seeking Alpha http://seekingalpha.com/ is a research aggregation site with lots of interesting stuff. This week surprisingly they changed their RSS feeds to headlines only making them practically worthless for the serious netuser. They prefer to go back to the akward email subscription business; a relict of the last century. This way I suppose the clickrates go up and readership down. A nice way to depreciate your assets.Next step a print magazine??
My reaction:Subscribe directly to the authors of the articles. More work upfront, less afterwards.Added value:you can read them earlier. Below i have copied the message as it appears on the feeds.
We’ve stopped syndicating the full text of articles by RSS, but you can still get full articles by email at http://seekingalpha.com/account/subscribe. The email system allows you to subscribe by the same categories we offer for RSS. Make sure to select “full articles on publication” as the delivery mode. By setting up a folder in your email program and a filter to direct emails from Seeking Alpha to that folder, you can view Seeking Alpha articles in their own location without flooding your inbox.
